A lot is happening in our field. I would like to share a few thoughts and show you what we are working on.
We are using AI agents in our daily simulation projects and software development. And honestly, we’re still stunned by how effectively an agent could already operate TCAE. Prepare a project, geometry, change settings, run calculations, and report results. This is becoming a very practical way of working.
Agents are so effective that we’re absolutely certain this is the end of human-operated software. The consequences are enormous.
The change is quite simple: You explain what you want to achieve. The agent operates the software instead of you. You check the results and decide what comes next.
No secrets. No tricks. You can try it yourself anytime. Just get Codex or Claude, and tell it what you want to do. You can have first working projects in a few hours.
Of course, knowing what to ask for and judging the results still requires some experience. But the amount of work we can now do this way is absolutely outstanding.
Coding is changing just as much. We can try ideas and develop new tools much faster. Simple software is becoming easier to create and widely available. I expect this to continue.
For us, this makes engineering experience even more important. Getting something to run is one thing. Making it reliable, useful, and sustainable for real projects takes a lot more work.
What are we developing?
A lot of things. As usual.
Here are three concrete examples:
We are developing a new family of compressible solvers, which we expect to significantly improve the accuracy and reliability of compressible-flow simulations. This is an important part of our development, and we look forward to sharing the results and comparisons soon.
We are also exploring new meshing strategies for turbomachinery inside TCAE. The mesh deserves a lot of attention, and we want to offer several alternatives.
And finally, we are working on a new concept of TCAE development for agents, since agents are taking over the heavy-lifting part. Agents help us move faster. Better solvers, meshes, and validation remain essential to getting better results.
Where are we going with TCAE?
Our long-term direction is to bring simulation, optimization, and accumulated knowledge closer together. TCAE runs the simulations. TOPT explores design alternatives. TBASE brings previous simulation data together, with predictive capabilities under development. Agents help operate and connect these tools.
We are developing TCAE to be operated by both humans and agents. We want the experience built into the software, and the knowledge collected in your projects, to become more useful with every new task.
There is plenty to do. We are moving quickly, and we would like to take you along.
