Test case set-up

  • It is necessary to select the correct solver (more information concerning solvers can be found further in this text)
  • We select solver simpleFoam (solver for incompressible, turbulent, steady state fluid flow)
    • solver’s source code is in directory:
      $FOAM_SOLVERS/incompressible/simpleFoam
    • source code is always in *.C and *.H files
  • Tutorial test case is in:
    $FOAM_TUTORIALS/incompressible/simpleFoam/pitzDaily
  • Copy tutorial pitzDaily for simpleFoam solver to your work directory:
    # cp -r $FOAM_TUTORIALS/incompressible/simpleFoam/pitzDaily $FOAM_RUN
  • Enter directory pitzDaily
    # cd $FOAM_RUN /pitzDaily

Non-Orthogonal Correctors

Pressure equation is repeated according to number of non-orthogonal correctors. This may reduce the influence of bad computational mesh. For more details see e.g. [10], [3] or [8].
